Bogota will probably split opinions. There are world-class museums, including and foremost the Museo de Oro (Gold Museum). There is some of the best food in Colombia in Chapinero and more.
But it’s also still an urban sprawl, very poor and dangerous in the south, and a historic centre that is both beautiful and ugly, depending on which part. But its location, against the Monserrate hill, is spectacular. So see for yourself in these photos of Bogota.
