I have started to call them dreamscapes. When you are driving through Mexican highlands in a bus, and all you see is fog for hours and hours, occasionally being lifted to reveal the mountainsides.
It’s when you walk through Guatemala volcano heartland, when clouds are slowly moving in, hiding mystic holy lakes from view. It’s when you walk through cloud forests in Costa Rica, where water is dripping everywhere though it isn’t raining.
Dreamscapes are because they look surreal. In a world where there are thousands of pictures of every landmark, they at least leave some level of mystery and mysticism. Over the months of traveling in Central America, I made dozens of these pictures. Dive into this fascinating world and imagine yourself what is hidden behind, under and above it.
